Chief Anderson 2008

Chief Larry Anderson has been with the police department for over 30 years. He began his career in 1969 as a patrolman and worked his way up to Chief of Police. He has received a Meritorious Commendation for saving a life. Chief Anderson is a firearms instructor and has attended numerous classes for executive officers.


Sgt. Keith Hammon has 14 years of service and is responsible for much of the creativity in our office. He has attended the Sergeant's Academy and was one of the principal designers of our Mission Statement. Sgt. Hammon has achieved his Advanced and Intermediate certificates. He is also an instructor in the Taser.

Sgt. Linsenmann

Sgt. Chad Linsenmann has served 11 years. He was the first Collision Reconstructionist as well as the first K-9 Handler ("Cole"). Sgt. Linsenmann has earned his Advanced and Intermediate certificates. He has been awarded the departmental Purple Heart and commendation for performance of duty under adverse conditions as well as Rigby Police Officer of the Year 2007. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Columbia Southern University in Information Technology. He graduated Magna Cum Laude.


Det. Sam Tower has been serving with our department since 2004. During his service with the department he has had the chance to become a state certified arrest techniques and ground fighting instructor. He teaches both of these classes to area law enforcement agencies and will begin teaching for the Law Enforcement Program at I.S.U. later this summer.

Detective Tower has studied and taught a traditional Japanese martial art for over 14 years and through his study in this fighting art, combined with his experience in law enforcement, has developed a self defense and rape aggression defense course for women and teens. He has successfully taught this course to many individuals in the upper valley and is currently training other instructors in this system so that it may be taught on a larger scale.

Off. Jenkins

Officer Jason Jenkins has served two years and is working in the patrol division. Officer Jenkins has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from BYU-Idaho.


Carol Shackelford is our administrative assistant and has served for about a year. She has been married for 11 years and has one son. She was born and raised in Idaho and her family has always been in law enforcement. Her grandparents were with the Owyhee County Posse, her grandfather was a special deputy. Her grandmother was a police matron and Civil Defense Director for Owyhee County. She has cousins and a nephew that have worked for various police departments throughout the state. She and her family moved from Twin Falls, where her husband was a Conservation Officer for eight years, to Eastern Idaho in 2004 when her husband put in for, and received the job as the Conservation Officer for Saint Anthony, and now for Ririe.

Carol has worked in many different aspects of an office, the most recent being in human resources and payroll for companies both here in Eastern Idaho and Twin Falls. She has had training in public records, dealing with employees and computers. She is also trained in interviewing children.

Officer Chris Martin graduated from the Idaho Police Officer's Academy on March 14, 2008. He served as an initial OIC.

We are pleased to announce that the Ordinance Officer position has been filled. Landon Clousing has been hired to enforce the city ordinances regarding junk vehicles and animal complaints. He is a native of Rigby and will be a great asset to our department.
